What you will be doing:

  • Participate in the Data Engineering team for data pipelines, mostly sitting on top of Spark (real-time processing) and data lakes. This role is not focused on pipelines and APIs, but instead, data distribution and maintenance.
  • Design and implement systems/processes to collect data from their execution systems to feed model generation, evaluation, and testing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs.

You are a good match if you have:

  • Experience designing, building, and maintaining scalable and efficient data pipelines to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources (internal and external) into the data warehouse.
  • Proficiency in Python and Pyspark.
  • Ability to ensure data quality and reliability throughout the process.

Job Description

What will you be doing?

As a Big Data Developer , you will participate in the design of the solutions and software to cover the required functionalities. In addition, you will analyze and solve the incidents that have occurred in our production processes so that we can ensure that we do not have any breaches with the regulator.

We need someone like you to help our client in different fronts:

  • Develop the required specifications, through the delivery of services and technical components required for its operation with a view of your own development and its integration with other teams and systems.
  • Document the solutions in JIRA, Confluence, ALM…
  • Certify your delivery and its integration with other components, designing and performing the relevant tests to ensure the quality of your team delivery.
  • Manage requests to other production support teams.

  • Conocimiento de conceptos de computación distribuida.
  • Experiencia y conocimiento en el uso de SQL.
  • Uso de bases de datos relacionales, particularmente en Oracle y PostgreSQL.
  • Conocimiento en el uso de servicios en entorno Cloudera.

Job Summary

As a Senior Data Engineer (16579) , you will play a key role in building and maintaining our data stack – from ingestion to modeling to warehouse optimization. You will work closely with data scientists, backend engineers, and stakeholders to ensure that our data is clean, reliable, and actionable.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Build and maintain scalable pipelines for ingesting and transforming data from diverse sources.
  • Collaborate with product, data science, and engineering to define and prioritize data requirements.
  • Implement robust ETL/ELT workflows using Python, SQL, and workflow orchestration tools.
  • Design and evolve data models in relational (PostgreSQL) and non-relational environments.
  • Maintain and optimize our cloud-based data warehouse (e.g. Redshift, Snowflake, or equivalent).
  • Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and validation logic to ensure trusted outputs.
  • Help productionize ML model inputs/outputs and support reproducible experimentation.
  • Monitor and improve performance of data infrastructure with observability and alerting.
  • Ensure secure handling of sensitive data and compliance with relevant data policies.
  • Document data flows, architecture, and transformation logic for team transparency.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
  • Have 5+ years of data engineering experience in production environments.
  • Are proficient in Python and SQL, with experience in workflow orchestration (Step Functions, Airflow, Dagster, etc).
  • Have hands-on experience with Spark, dbt, or similar tools for scalable transformations.
  • Are comfortable with cloud-native tooling – especially AWS services like S3, Lambda, RDS, and Glue.
  • Understand how to model and structure data for analytics, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Care deeply about data quality, testing, and long-term maintainability of pipelines.
  • Can work independently on scoped projects and communicate clearly across time zones.
  • Design, build, and manage data pipelines and ETL workflows.
  • Develop and maintain core data models, schemas, and warehouse structures.
  • Optimize data systems for scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Support downstream consumers including ML pipelines, dashboards, and internal APIs.

Additional Requirements

  • Experience working in a modern data stack with tools like dbt, Snowflake, or Fivetran.
  • Exposure to production ML workflows or feature engineering pipelines.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Pulumi) or containerized environments (Docker).
  • Background in real estate, pricing, or time-series forecasting.

In this position, you will play a pivotal role within our expanding Data team, contributing to the creation of robust data pipelines that empower analytics, data science, and data product development. This, in turn, drives business growth, fostering a worldwide environment of peer-to-peer generosity. This position requires a high level of technical proficiency across diverse technologies for the development and management of our corporate data warehouse. It involves collecting data from multiple databases and web APIs and seamlessly integrating this data with external systems.

This is a remote position based in Argentina.

The Job…

  • Develop and maintain enterprise data warehouse (Snowflake)
  • Develop and orchestrate ELT data pipelines (sourcing data from databases, streaming data, various web APIs, etc.)
  • Integrate data from data warehouse into third party tools to make data actionable (Reverse ETL)
  • Develop and sustain REST API endpoints for data science products
  • Provide ongoing maintenance and improvements to existing data warehouse solutions
  • Monitor and optimize Snowflake data warehouse usage, ensuring cost-effectiveness, performance, safety, and accurate permissions management.
  • Work in collaboration with analysts, engineers, and business users to formulate solutions.
  • Research innovative technologies and make continuous improvements

  • 5+ years as a data engineer crafting, developing and maintaining business data warehouse alternatives consisting of structured and unstructured data
  • Proficiency with building and orchestrating data pipelines using ETL/data preparation tools
  • Expertise in orchestration tools like Airflow or Prefect
  • Proficiency in connecting data through web APIs across different systems
  • Proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries
  • Solid knowledge of Python, Java, C++ or other programming languages
  • Experience with Snowflake is required
  • Experience implementing improvements in Snowflake is highly desirable
  • Good understanding of database architecture and best practices
  • Understanding of data science and machine learning technologies a plus
  • Experience with event and user tracking tools and data (GA, Heap, CDP’s) is a plus
  • DBT experience is highly desirable
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, particularly Terraform, is a plus
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (K8s), specifically in AWS EKS environments is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Engineering is desirable
