Descripción Del Trabajo
#poweringyouringenuity
Our mission is to bridge top-level technology companies with engineering talent from across the globe. With presence in LATAM, USA and Europe, we empower companies by providing remote engineering teams of all levels tailored to the needs of each project.
Our teams are passionate about technology and thrive on challenges. We value technical expertise and a willingness to learn new things. Each development is tailored to the needs of each project, so being passionate about learning and using new languages, tools, and frameworks is part of our DNA. Our software engineering teams focus on best coding practices to ensure readability, reusability, and scalability of our systems' designs and developments.
We are looking for a Junior Advanced SysAdmin to support an Open Source Robotics project, a nonprofit organization behind core technologies like ROS, Gazebo, and Open-RMF. This person should bring a solid technical foundation and a curious mind to join the Buildfarmer team, a small but critical group responsible for keeping the ROS and Gazebo buildfarms running smoothly. This team monitors build regressions, test failures, flaky tests, and system warnings across an extensive open-source codebase used by the global robotics community.
You’ll work closely with both OSRF and Ekumen engineers to help ensure stability and reliability in the tools that power thousands of robotic systems around the world.
What you'll be doing:
Monitor and maintain the public buildfarm infrastructure for ROS and Gazebo.
Investigate test and build regressions, flaky test behavior, and system warnings.
Collaborate with upstream developers to report and address issues.
Help propose and implement improvements to the buildfarm processes and tooling.
Learn and grow while contributing to widely adopted open-source technologies.
We’re looking for someone with:
Solid experience in Linux
System administration or operations work.
Good knowledge of Python and Bash for scripting.
Familiarity with Git environments.
Attention to detail and strong investigative skills are required to spot and report subtle issues.
A proactive attitude and a willingness to dig into complex systems and propose improvements.
Bonus points for experience with:
Docker or other containerization tools.
SQLite or other lightweight databases.
Join us to be part of a dynamic community where your skills and contributions truly matter!
