- As a cloud engineer, you must have an Interest for learning Azure and Cloud technologies and a desire to continually improve your skill set. You are a problem solver – you see a problem and think analytically and logically to develop and create the most efficient solution possible. You’re able to think outside the box and solve challenging problems in unconventional ways. Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions to both large and small audiences. You enjoy working together with an Agile team, but are capable of managing multiple tasks from start to finish alone when needed. Cloud Engineer is responsible for developing and supporting ExxonMobil's Azure platform.
Strong architecture and coding skills are desired in order understand the cloud environment, develop scripts, and code automated deployment of resources (PaaS, IaaS, network) in Azure.
Engineer will develop, automate, and implement platform solutions related to our core Azure environment.
This includes subscriptions, resource groups, management groups, and the Azure logic app to name a few. This role allows for direct collaboration with internal and external parties (especially Microsoft) to help design and implement the Azure platform environment.
Behavioral characteristics include: analytical mindset, self-starting, strong collaboration with others, customer focus, and initiative to drive a problem to a solution. Experience working in agile teams and using Azure DevOps for both managing work and deploying via pipelines is a bonus. As the number of applications moving to Azure increases, the cloud engineer will also need to provide base support for the Azure platform environment (troubleshooting issues, assisting customers with problems, etc).
About you- Bachelor's degree or close to graduating in Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computing Engineering, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering or similar.

**This position plays an active role in the software development lifecycle, optimizing evergreen support (through configuration, automation, and integration) and supporting in-house developed applications.**
**Responsibilities:**
**Participate in deploying software across different environments using standard software engineering and DevOps practices.**
**Debug and fix issues by applying basic programming concepts & patterns, applying in-depth knowledge of business domain to improve business workflows, and collaborating with business partners to identify, prioritize, and implement application enhancements.**

- Design and implement Virtual Cloud solutions including virtual network and management of network routings and subnets.
- Design efficient, scalable ETL/ELT pipelines that streamline data processing and integration. Experience with integrating data across disparate systems using APIs and data integration tools.
- Design scalable, high-performance data models and databases, including Medallion Data Warehouse architecture, Data Lakehouses, dimensional modelling (Star and/or Snowflake schemas), and other relevant design patterns.
- Manage one or more Data projects, owning the end-to-end execution and responsibility for the outcomes.
- Lead cross-functional teams to deliver on client goals, providing technical guidance and ensuring alignment with best practices.
