The Mission

We are seeking a talented Senior Director to lead our Cloud Engineering practice. This leader will be responsible for guiding, expanding, and evolving our cloud engineering services. Key duties include setting the technical vision, establishing best practices, and ensuring the successful delivery of cloud solutions for enterprise clients. The role requires deep expertise in AWS technologies, strong business acumen, and the ability to lead a large, diverse team in a fast-paced environment.

Your Responsibilities
  1. Practice Leadership: Define and implement the strategic vision for the Cloud Engineering Practice, ensuring alignment with company objectives and AWS best practices.
  2. Technical Excellence: Develop and promote industry-leading methodologies, frameworks, and architectures for cloud-native solutions.
  3. People Management: Lead and mentor a team of 200+ cloud engineers, architects, and consultants, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
  4. Delivery Excellence: Oversee the successful execution of cloud engagements, ensuring high-quality delivery, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.
  5. AWS Partnership: Strengthen collaboration with AWS, leveraging the latest technologies and programs to enhance service offerings.
  6. Business Growth: Support pre-sales efforts, contribute to go-to-market strategies, and drive revenue growth by aligning technical capabilities with business opportunities.
  7. Innovation & Thought Leadership: Stay ahead of industry trends, promote innovation within the practice, and represent Caylent at conferences, webinars, and AWS events.
  8. AI & Emerging Technologies Leadership: Drive development and implementation of AI-powered cloud solutions.
Your Qualifications
  1. 15+ years of experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure, or software development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a professional services company.
  2. Proven experience leading and scaling a cloud engineering practice, preferably within an AWS-focused services organization.
  3. Deep expertise in AWS services, architectures, and best practices.
  4. Strong background in DevOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, and cloud security.
  5. Ability to drive business outcomes, manage budgets, and align technical capabilities with revenue goals.
  6. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  7. Experience working with enterprise clients across various industries.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional.
  2. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
  3. AWS, Kubernetes, or HashiCorp certifications.

For this team we are looking for several Alliances Engineers to support OEM (hardware manufacturers), GSI (global system integrators), ISV (independent software vendors), Channel partners and Public Cloud alliance partners. You will support various alliances and partners of Canonical to adopt our products and technologies, help business leaders to define joint go-to-market programs with partners from the technical standpoint.

What your day will look like

  • Understand Ubuntu, Linux, networking and services in real-world environments
  • Architect cloud infrastructure solutions like Kubernetes, Kubeflow, OpenStack, Ceph, and Spark either On-Premises or in Public Cloud (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Architect and integrate popular open source software such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Kafka, Cassandra and NGINX
  • Help partners to offer and architect joint solutions utilizing Canonical's technologies on top of the public clouds and in the data center
  • Design and publish joint Reference Architectures and perform technical validations with various partners
  • Prepare and run onboarding sessions/workshops with various partners' teams to promote Canonical products and solutions

**What you will do**

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in cloud architecture and IT implementation, with AWS expertise preferred.

  • Implementing comprehensive monitoring and alerting solutions using AWS CloudWatch, Prometheus, and Grafana to ensure system health, performance, and availability
  • Managing logging and auditing systems with AWS CloudTrail and the ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) stack to provide visibility and traceability of infrastructure events
  • Collaborating with software engineering, security, and operations teams to define infrastructure requirements, architect solutions, and implement best practices
  • Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI/CD to automate application deployment and infrastructure changes

Requirements

  • Extensive experience designing, deploying, and managing cloud infrastructure on AWS, including core services such as EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, and Lambda
  • Proficient in writing, testing, and maintaining infrastructure as code using Terraform to automate cloud resource provisioning and management
  • Skilled in using AWS CloudFormation templates for infrastructure automation and orchestration

We need a Senior Software Engineer / Cloud Engineer for our infra team. We are looking for someone specialized in Infrastructure Engineering who has industry experience scaling reliable and secure cloud infrastructure at a global scale. We are looking for an engineer who has had end-to-end experience building, designing, and supporting a cloud-based infrastructure stack. An ideal candidate for this role is comfortable driving infrastructure features as an individual contributor from design to production, taking requirements from QA, Engineering, Technical Support, and others, and producing secure, scalable, robust, implementations.

Requirements


  • 5+ years of software development experience
  • Strong software development background with strong expertise in at least one programming language
  • Experience with Docker and running container orchestration systems (Kubernetes preferred)
  • Experience working in Cloud services providers (AWS or Azure is preferred)
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code and other cloud automation tools (HashiCorp suite)
  • Experience with building observability tooling, dashboards, and alerting for monitoring distributed systems
  • Deep understanding of monitoring, networking, security at the application layer and cloud infrastructure layer
  • Experience with running and maintaining B2B SaaS products for thousands of enterprise customers
  • Strong familiarity with Linux
  • On-call rotation for production related issues to uphold our SLA with clients


Job responsibilities


  • Architect and implement new cloud infrastructure to enable high-performance SaaS applications globally in the cloud.
  • Build and deliver observability tools and analyze data, working with the application development team to ensure a consistently superb customer experience.
  • Experience designing a globally distributed system in a cloud-based and container-based world.
  • You will fit into our teams, be a fantastic collaborator, comfortable with giving and receiving feedback, and able to thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • Continue to grow automation for infrastructure provisioning, developer efficiency, and internal tooling efficiency.
  • Assist our customer support and sales team with technical issues in regards to the AuditBoard application.
  • Maintain reliability for our production systems to exceed our SLA requirements, part of which is being in an on-call rotation for production issues.
  • Help define internal Service Level Objectives and Service Level Indicators (for the Infrastructure Engineering team to achieve better reliability).
