Position Description
We are looking for a Database developer to work on complex problems requiring creative, data-intensive solutions in order to effectively and efficiently automate operations at scale. In this role, you will be expected to work autonomously and contribute to several high impact projects including optimizing all application touchpoints with the database systems.
You will be working in CST business hours, which are 8 AM CDT to 5 PM CDT (Please also consider the changes because of daylight savings). You will also have on-call duties outside CST business hours as well and you will need to respond to high-priority incident pager.
Responsibilities
- Enhance and optimize existing databases for peak performance
- Find bottlenecks in high volume OLTP environments and deliver optimal solutions
- Understand database execution plans and how to use the information to optimize code
- Monitor and analyze database performance and ensure effective and efficient utilization of database systems/processes
- Maintain a high bar for quality and performance of your product with vigorous attention to detail and automated testing
- Experience with continuous integration, delivery, desired state processes tools and constraints
- Set and maintain database standards
- Design and implement highly available database architectures using proven frameworks and tools
- Provide documentation and training to other Engineering stakeholders
- Closely collaborate with application developers and Product Managers and interact with stakeholders across the organization to optimize SQL code and database structures to continuously improve how we design, build, and ship software as a highly functional team
- Be a force-multiplier on the velocity and quality of your team
- Provide technical leadership on database systems and solutions
Workplace:
Full-time working hours. Remote, working from home (working in CST) and based in Latin America.
Must Have Skills:
- Be a technical leader with previous experience leading technical projects and show ownership of database design
- 5+ years of practical experience building and supporting Postgres and Azure SQL databases
- Extensive experience with query tuning and troubleshooting including indexing, ensuring proper join techniques, etc.
- Excellent SQL programming: writing, maintaining and testing codes using "outside the box" approach
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, Bash and other command line utilities
- Ability to understand complicated problems and craft into simple solutions that can be maintained by the rest of the team
- Ability to participate in and contribute to code management in GitHub including actively collaborating in peer-reviews, feature branches, and resolving conflicts and commits
- Previous experience providing individual mentoring and training on databases, best practices and tools.
- Ability to recommend, test, and evaluate new technologies, software tools, and required skill sets; recommend and implement improvements.

- Diseñar, construir y optimizar arquitecturas de bases de datos relacionales, asegurando su confiabilidad, escalabilidad y seguridad.
- Ejecutar procesos de normalización, limpieza y consolidación de datos provenientes de múltiples sistemas comerciales.
- Colaborar en la creación de un modelo de datos intermedio unificado que facilite la migración hacia un sistema transversal único.
- Realizar análisis técnico para detectar duplicidades, errores y particularidades en los datos existentes.
- Implementar estrategias de mejora de calidad de datos, corrigiendo registros incompletos, inválidos o inconsistentes.
- Aplicar técnicas de data profiling y generar métricas que aseguren unicidad, integridad y trazabilidad de la información.
- Documentar procesos, hallazgos y decisiones técnicas, entregando reportes periódicos al equipo y al cliente.

¿Qué necesitamos de vos?
- 5 años o más de experiencia en desarrollo y administración de bases de datos.
- Formación en Ingeniería en Sistemas, Informática o carreras afines.
- Dominio de SQL avanzado (consultas complejas, optimización de performance, modelado de datos).
- Experiencia en normalización de datos, procesos ETL y migraciones entre sistemas.
- Conocimiento en herramientas de gestión y calidad de datos (data quality tools, data profiling, reporting).
- Habilidades de comunicación para trabajar con equipos multidisciplinarios y documentar resultados.
- Disponibilidad en horario laboral del cliente (8 a 17, 9 a 18) y para viajar a las ciudades (en Argentina) de las unidades del cliente cuando se requiera.
Se valorará:
- Experiencia en proyectos de migración de datos a gran escala.

We are looking for a talented and experienced Database Administrator to join our team in Argentina. Bridgenext is seeking a DBA who will be expected to work autonomously and contribute to several high-impact projects including architecting the database infrastructure to support our customer's data needs. You will be part of a team which will have on-call duties and would need to respond to high priority incident pager.
Responsibilities- Support highly available database architectures using proven frameworks and tools
- Responsible for backups, testing, and regular database maintenance
- Enhance and optimize existing databases for peak performance
- Provide documentation and training to other Engineering stakeholders
- Monitor and analyze database performance and ensure effective and efficient utilization of database systems/processes
- Experience with continuous integration, delivery, desired state processes tools and constraints
- Closely collaborate with fellow Engineers and DBAs
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
- Execute SQL scripts and other tools to apply changes to all database environments
Remote, based in Argentina supporting Central timezone work hours taking daylight savings into consideration
Must Have Skills- English communication skills, working proficiency
- 7+ years of practical experience building and supporting Postgres and Azure SQL databases
- Experience with query tuning and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, Bash and other command line utilities
- Experience managing high availability and disaster recovery programs
- Strong SQL programming writing, maintaining and testing codes using “outside the box” approach
- Ability to participate in and contribute to code management in GitHub including actively collaborating in peer-reviews, feature branches, and resolving conflicts and commits
- Expertise in database administration, including experience with a variety of databases, cloud applications, and distributed processing technologies
- Adaptable to change and able to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to understand complicated problems and craft into simple solutions that can be maintained by the rest of the team
- Willingness to carry pager, on rotation, approximately 1 week per month
- Exposure to NoSQL databases such as MongoDB a plus
- Previous Database Migration and SSIS/ADF exposure a plus
- Terraform knowledge preferred
- Solid written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
- Strong analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Strong team and individual player

- High standards of professionalism, consistently producing high quality results
- Self-sufficient, independent requiring very little supervision or intervention
