The opportunity
Talent has seen a significant investment and growth in our people, and you’ll see that reflected in this role. You’ll provide a high level of talent consultation to the firm while leading change initiatives around human resources (HR) programs and processes. Whatever you find yourself working on, it all comes down to providing strategic consultation to business leaders that will allow them to drive business results. As a trusted advisor to the business, you’ll be part of the leadership team, translating the business strategy into talent solutions.
Your key responsibilities
You’ll be responsible for high-quality execution of significant HR processes, including compensation, performance management and career development. You’ll serve as the frontline support to customer groups as well as provide strategic support to functional leadership on people initiatives. You’ll address and resolve a wide range of employee inquiries and provide guidance to our business leaders. Utilizing data analytics, you’ll provide insight on headcount, salaries and budgets and inform on solutions as needed. You may also be responsible for supervising and mentoring other team members.

To qualify for the role you must have
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Seven-plusyears of experiencewith working knowledge of United States Labor Law
- Profici ency in MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong command of English Language (written and oral)
- Cross border working knowledge
- Financial Services knowledge (ex. Banking, Capital Markets, Insurance and/or Wealth Management)
Ideally, you’ll also have
- A master’s degree, supported bySociety for Human Resource Managementcertification
- Experience working within a professional services industry or complex matrixed environment

As an Associate Consultant Intern, you will collaborate within small teams to help some of the world's biggest brands answer and implement solutions for their most challenging strategic questions. You will immediately create meaningful contributions through taking ownership of deliverables and building external relationships with clients. Our engagements cover diverse areas, including product development, marketing, customer loyalty, and innovation. This role aligns with the practices of traditional management consulting firms.

o How can a global financial services institution be successful at entering a hyper competitive new market?

Performance Analytics
- Use quantitative and qualitative skills and enterprise applications (e.g., Business Intelligence Platforms, SQL, Python, and more) to drive data-led consulting solutions for customers. Weave together vast amounts Mastercard, client & 3rd party data assets to investigate trends, build propensity models, develop data visualizations, and synthesize millions of data points into a cohesive story. Engage with client stakeholders through virtual and in-person meetings, leveraging insights to inform strategic recommendations.
- Sampling of questions we help our customers answer:
o How does a financial institution's fraud/authorization metrics fare against competitors, and what are strategies that can help it be best-in-class?
o How is a technology customer's market share changing over time, and are there any segments where the client is relatively under penetrated?
Marketing
- Develop strategies and lead implementation of marketing campaigns and engagements; evaluate results to drive performance on behalf of Mastercard's clients. Provide deep direct marketing expertise across channels, leveraging customer, behavioral and transactional data and defining tangible results to both the client and Mastercard.
- Sampling of questions we help our clients answer:
o How does a fintech client optimize new customer acquisition and existing customers' life cycle value through effective targeting and communications?
