How will you contribute to our magical experience?
As a Software Engineering Manager, you will lead a team through every phase of the software development process, from conceptualization to deployment, in a fast-paced environment. You will work closely with technical leads and engineers across multiple teams to refine requirements and scope work. You will also work closely with project managers to define schedules, prioritization, and roadmap planning. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, translating requirements into tasks that will deliver premier backend services, and advocate for continuous innovation in features and functionalities
The Manager, Software Engineering will be responsible for:
- Lead a team of software engineers designing and implementing scalable automated validations within a service-focused framework.
- Develop relationships with direct reports to support career growth and foster a healthy, vibrant environment.
- Provide technical status updates and insights.
- Collaborate with backend development teams to improve code quality through issue discovery and resolution.
- Oversee the full application lifecycle, focusing on coding, problem-solving, and delivering sophisticated solutions.
- Identify test coverage gaps and work with project managers to plan roadmaps and priorities.
What we need from you to be part of this story:
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of professional software development and/or software test experience.
- Proven experience leading engineering teams or technical projects, with strong leadership and team management skills.
- Strong skills in Java, Python and backend engineering.
- Advanced level of English.
- Experience with streaming data frameworks and building cloud-based applications (AWS).
- Experience with Temporal, Kubernetes, GitHub, and Datadog.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive team environment.
- Experience in the media streaming industry is a plus.

About The Role
We're seeking a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead our development team in the Philippines. In this role, you will provide technical leadership while guiding your team through agile development processes, improving code quality, and enhancing our CI/CD practices. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with exceptional leadership abilities.
Responsibilities
- Spend 50% of your time writing code, building scalable features and reviewing Pull Requests (PRs) to ensure code quality
- Spend 50% of your time coaching, mentoring, and managing Scrum practices
- Provide technical leadership and hands-on mentorship to a growing team of software engineers
- Lead and optimize Scrum practices including sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, and reviews
- Champion continuous improvement in code quality, test coverage, and deployment practices
- Actively contribute to code reviews and architectural decisions for our core platform
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers and stakeholders to deliver high-impact features
- Foster an engineering culture that values innovation, quality, and continuous learning
- 5+ years of hands-on software development with .NET/C# technologies
- Strong foundational knowledge of DevOps best practices on AWS, Heroku or similar
- 3+ years of engineering leadership experience with demonstrable team growth results
