The Role
The Engineering organization at Medallia brings together applications that power a highly reliable global SaaS platform. We are currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer skilled in Python to join our Provisioning and Deployment team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Python programming, extensive experience in developing and maintaining automation frameworks, and a passion for optimizing processes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain scalable automation solutions and systems that enhance productivity and efficiency. These systems are integral to our capability to advance our industry-leading SaaS platform.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable automation frameworks using Python
- Develop and implement new functionality that is essential for orchestrating the complex rollout of Medallia Experience Cloud releases into environments across multiple data centers and geographic regions
- Maintain and improve the systems used to deploy, scale, and operate databases dynamically
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand requirements and provide automation solutions
- Mentor and guide junior developers and engineers in best practices for Python and automation development
- Partner with the database administration team to understand requirements and use cases
- Ensure observability of our deployment stack to achieve and maintain proper alerting and monitoring
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of engineering experience working on distributed systems or operations engineering
- 5 years of Python experience
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Demonstrated understanding of software fundamentals, development processes, and best practices
- Demonstrated fluency in English, both verbal and written
