We are looking for a Senior Ruby on Rails Developer to join our growing engineering team and work on a complex and high-traffic media publishing platform. You will play a key role in maintaining and evolving a Rails codebase, helping us build the next generation of scalable and performant digital experiences.
What You’ll Do
- Contribute to the development, maintenance, and optimization of a large-scale Ruby on Rails application running on version 5
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA, DevOps, and product owners to deliver new features and improvements
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices and coding standards
- Analyze and solve performance bottlenecks and production issues
- Work in an agile and fast-paced environment
- 6+ years of professional experience in software development. At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails
- Solid understanding of web development principles, RESTful APIs, and MVC architecture
- Strong knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and system design
- Experience working with complex, high-traffic systems and relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL)
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Ability to debug legacy code and refactor when necessary
- A collaborative mindset and a passion for solving challenging problems
- Comfortable working with Git, CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with AWS and cloud-based infrastructure
- Strong English communication skills (both spoken and written) are required, as you’ll be collaborating daily with international teams across multiple time zones
- Experience with caching strategies, background jobs, and scaling applications.
- Exposure to frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Vue) or working alongside frontend teams.
- Knowledge of performance monitoring tools and debugging in production.

How will you contribute to our magical experience?
The Software Engineer will join the System Engineering & Integration team within Disney's Media Engineering organization to help build a platform that enhances testing and integration workflows for adjacent development teams. This platform will focus on automated data validation and ensuring integration quality prior to production deployments, with an emphasis on scalability, performance, and reliability.
The role involves building backend applications primarily in Java and/or Python, working with cloud technologies (AWS), and implementing automated workflows using orchestration tools like Temporal. The engineer will contribute to resilient backend systems, optimize data processing flows, and ensure high standards in system observability and dependability.
As part of a cross-functional, fast-paced environment, the Software Engineer will engage in the full software development lifecycle—from design and implementation to deployment. This position is ideal for self-starters who enjoy technical challenges and are eager to grow their skills while working collaboratively across disciplines.
The Software Engineer will be responsible for:
- Design and develop backend applications in Java and/or Python to support integration testing platforms.
- Build scalable, dependable, and high-performance systems for metadata validation across Disney media platforms.
- Apply cloud services (primarily AWS) to create and maintain resilient infrastructure.
- Collaborate with backend development teams to improve code quality through unit testing, automation, and code reviews.

Buscamos para cliente líder en una plataforma de gestión para agencias de publicidad y empresas.
Responsabilidades- Diseñar, construir y evolucionar microservicios robustos y de alto rendimiento utilizando nuestro stack tecnológico (Laravel, NestJS, AdonisJS, FastAPI).
- Traducir requerimientos complejos de negocio en soluciones técnicas elegantes, escalables y mantenibles.
- Tomar ownership de componentes clave de nuestra arquitectura, asegurando su calidad y correcto funcionamiento desde el desarrollo hasta la producción.
- Escribir código de alta calidad, promoviendo activamente buenas prácticas de desarrollo, testing y seguridad dentro del equipo.
- Proponer e implementar mejoras de rendimiento y escalabilidad en los servicios existentes, identificando cuellos de botella y optimizando recursos.
- Participar en discusiones de diseño de arquitectura y aportar una visión técnica para la evolución de la plataforma.
- Mentorear a otros desarrolladores a través de revisiones de código constructivas y colaboración técnica.
Requisitos Indispensables (Must-Have):
- Más de 3 años de experiencia profesional en roles de desarrollo backend.
- Experiencia y dominio demostrable en al menos uno de los siguientes ecosistemas:
- ○ Typescript (con NestJS o AdonisJS)
- ○ PHP (con Laravel)
- ○ Python (con FastAPI o Flask)
- Sólida experiencia en el modelado de datos y optimización de consultas en bases de datos relacionales (ej. PostgreSQL).

- Familiaridad con herramientas de infraestructura como Código (Terraform, CloudFormation).

How will you contribute to our magical experience?
The Software Engineer will join the System Engineering & Integration team within Disney's Media Engineering organization to help build a platform that enhances testing and integration workflows for adjacent development teams. This platform will focus on automated data validation and ensuring integration quality prior to production deployments, with an emphasis on scalability, performance, and reliability.
The role involves building backend applications primarily in Java and/or Python, working with cloud technologies (AWS), and implementing automated workflows using orchestration tools like Temporal. The engineer will contribute to resilient backend systems, optimize data processing flows, and ensure high standards in system observability and dependability.
As part of a cross-functional, fast-paced environment, the Software Engineer will engage in the full software development lifecycle—from design and implementation to deployment. This position is ideal for self-starters who enjoy technical challenges and are eager to grow their skills while working collaboratively across disciplines.
Responsibilities- Design and develop backend applications in Java and/or Python to support integration testing platforms.
- Build scalable, dependable, and high-performance systems for metadata validation across Disney media platforms.
- Apply cloud services (primarily AWS) to create and maintain resilient infrastructure.
- Collaborate with backend development teams to improve code quality through unit testing, automation, and code reviews.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from concept to deployment.
- Identify gaps in test coverage and help prioritize roadmap items with project managers.
- Leverage technologies like Temporal, Kubernetes, GitHub, and Datadog to support automation and observability.
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong proficiency in Java and Python.
- Experience building cloud-based applications using AWS.
- Advanced level of English.
- Familiarity with Temporal, Kubernetes, GitHub, and Datadog.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to take on new challenges.
- Experience in the media streaming industry (is a plus).

Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for system architecture, ensuring seamless communication between all robotics services and cloud systems. You will leverage your deep expertise in software and system architecture to drive innovation and solve complex challenges.
Duties will include developing user interfaces, databases, ROS services, communication with edge-devices and cloud services, as well as leading the technical roadmap for the system architecture aligned with our vision and Product Roadmap.A successful candidate is strongly motivated and passionate about solving software and system architecture problems and pushing the boundaries of what is possible today, and will be an entrepreneurial, mission-driven individual responsible for actively progressing, developing, and executing the technical roadmap of our solar module installation robotic system.
This individual will take on the responsibility of defining, designing, and implementing the software architecture and guide the Robotics, Vision and Hardware Engineers to identify the best way to make all the systems communicate with the Maximo ecosystem. In addition, this person will take ownership of developing and maintaining Maximo computers, network, and cloud connectivity, deploying changes, and monitoring their performance, collaborating closely with the Engineer Team to ensure seamless integration of improvements into our applications.
As a specialist in the Maximo business, this position will work collaboratively across the Maximo, external industry partners across the value chain, and AES teams, including engineering, business development, field operations, commercial and strategy.
Major Responsibilities
Design and implement system architecture to ensure seamless communication between various components, including robotics, vision systems, databases, GUI, battery management, and cloud services.
Propose and implement the best deployment strategies for our software, evaluating options such as Docker, C++, and Python.
Propose and implement the best solution for remote support.
Ensure all code repositories have proper validation, testing, and approvals in place.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Robotics Engineers, Control Engineers, AI and Vision Specialists to ensure seamless integration of all systems.
Stay up to date with the latest advancements in software engineering, system architecture, and deployment strategies to drive innovation and improve product performance.
Design, implement, and maintain cloud services, connectivity, and data logs.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in software engineering, system architecture, deployment strategies, and robotics systems.
Strong theoretical foundation in software engineering principles and system architecture.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, ROS2, SQL, and non-SQL databases.
Advanced oral and written English proficiency.
Experience with containerization and deployment tools such as Docker.
Experience with real-time systems and embedded platforms.
Knowledge of robotics platforms and sensor systems.
Entrepreneurial passion for getting things done and a “make it happen” attitude with an intellectual curiosity to seek new opportunities.
Capability to work dynamically and collaboratively across multiple teams in a fast-paced and technical business environment with minimal supervision.Excellent communication skills.
Results-oriented, “can-do” attitude, and “get things done” mentality; comfortable with uncertainty and ambiguity; no compromise on attention to quality and details.
Demonstrated ability to understand solar engineering and technology concepts, question assumptions, and make informed product and technology decisions. Technical understanding of automation, robotics, computer vision, machine learning, and/or artificial intelligence is a plus.

Details of the Role
- Type of Work: Full-time Contractor, available to work up to 40 hours per week
- Working Hours: PST (Pacific Standard Time)
- Years of experience: 2-4 Years
The Day to Day
- Work with product designers, other developers, and stakeholders to create user-friendly experiences
- Maintain up-to-date documentation, usage guidelines, and component libraries, supporting designers and other developers in adopting and implementing the system effectively
- Assist in leading or developing on different projects, ensuring successful execution from planning to deployment.
- Communicate technical feasibility and alternative solutions when roadblocks are discovered to clients and internal team members
- Write high-quality, clean, efficient, performant, and well documented code to create reusable and modular components
- Integrate and manage content through variety of CMS, ensuring seamless delivery across the application
- Balance constraints, limiting short-term workarounds, while focusing on future extensions
Qualifications
- Highly experienced using JS Frameworks (React, Typescript, Gatsby.js, Next.js, etc.)
- Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3.
- Strong understanding of CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS.
- Proficient understanding of NodeJs
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as GIT
- An excellent ability to convert Figma/Sketch mockups into interactive digital experiences while taking performance and accessibility into consideration
- Implementing and maintaining various content management systems (Sanity, Contentful, Dato CMS, WordPress, Storyblok, Builder.io, Prismic, Strapi, Hubspot, etc.)
- Minimum 1-2 years of Wordpress experience (plus)
- Excellence in verbal and written communication, and in working collaboratively with a variety of colleagues and clients in challenging circumstances.
- Excellent time management, problem solving, teamwork, and communication skills
